Easily Sinterable Low-Alloy Steel Powders for P/M Diamond Tools

چکیده
The work presents the design and fabrication procedures used to manufacture inexpensive iron-base powders employed as a matrix in diamond-impregnated tool components. Three newly developed low alloy steel powders, containing from 94.4 99.4 wt.% Fe, have been formulated with assistance of ThermoCalc software produced by means proprietary process patented AGH-UST. It has shown that are readily pressureless sintered closed porosity condition (>95% theoretical density) at temperature range between 840 950 °C. All as-consolidated materials achieve desired hardness more than 200 HV. One experimental designed partly melt within sintering window. This is particularly important wire saw beads conventional press sinter route because ring its further brazing tubular holder can be combined into one operation.

Elliptical Vibration Cutting of Steel with Diamond Tools
Diamond turning of steel alloys is impractical due to catastrophic tool wear caused by a combination of chemical and abrasive wear. In the literature, several modifications of the cutting process have been proposed, e.g. cutting in an inert gas atmosphere, cryogenic cutting and vibration assisted cutting, e.g. elliptical vibration cutting (EVC) [1-5]. In this work, the EVC method was investigat...
متن کاملInvestigation of Contact Phenomena in Turning Using Tools Made of Low- Alloy High-speed Steel
Original scientific paper In this paper, the results of investigations of the temperature field distribution and tool wearing during C60 steel turning are presented. Abrasive wear resistance tests were carried out for cutters made of low-alloy high-speed steel. Steel samples were heat treated, and then were subjected to ion nitriding, TiN coating, or to complex treatment. The influence of cutti...
